oh. i haven't filed science maths chinese lit. *prepares to die*

anyway today spent so much money like about $55 =X firstly, went to paya lebar to buy the clothes for sec 2 dance tingy. we walked around and around den finally saw this skirt that's nice so we went to try it on. but it was too short. too short according to some trs etc. i dunno. but we really liekd that skirt alot and its stretchable too, if we bought that one for everyone, we could have like gone home early. instead of me reaching home at like 6 plus. supposed to be 3pm. yah so paya lebar has nth actually, denw e went to some city plaza place?? dunno wads that den worse la, nth there.

in the end, everyone got very tired and kinda pissed off an some had to go home so only me sophia yihui and elaine went to buy the tops for everyone at guess where? TAMPINES. -_- stupid lah. we should have gone to tampines. instead of paya lebar which has practically nothing. i dun like paya lebar.

and i spent like $30 on the top and bottom[ which is actually quite cheap but still...] and den went to popular to see if got the Jolin's new album. den got the pre-order sales tingy. so i went to pre-order. $20.95 =( anyway the bad thing happened there. when i went in, the sensor tingy for shoplifting lah beeped. den i was like errr okayyy. and everyone stared at me. as if i stole anything -_-

okay nvm den i tot it was probably sth wrong with the sensor so after i pre-ordered the album i wanted to go out, and it beeped AGAIN. omg. that time everyone was like giving me the suspicious look. and i was so helpless can. den i quickly went back into the shop and found elaine. den i discovered it was the tab at the skirt i bought just now. IT WAS NOT REMOVED LAH. stupid. so went to the popular person and she was like checking my bag..okay nvm. tt time i tink everyone was still staring at me. probably expecting policemen to come and get me already? den i told her abt the tab tingy and wen she found nth suspicious so she let me go. den i went out and the sensor BEEPED again. RAHHH. went out feeling so disturbed. i guessed i looked suspicious with a plastic bag and a sling bag.

so embarassing! ee. i din even steal anything and it beeped just becos that stupid cashier the the skirt shop DID NOT TAKE OFF THE TAB. wanted to complain to the wadever consumer organisation. haha its mentioned in home econs textbook sec 1. lols. but i obviously forgot the name and details duh. cause me all the mental stress and embarassment when everyone in popular stared at me like i was a criminal. but actually, no one stopped me when i go out. means if the sensor thing beeped and beeped, itwould still be okay. cos i want to ask abt the tag tingy or else i could have just gone out. means if i were a shoplifter, i could have gone off the hook.

but im so CHENG2 XIN4 YONG3 ZHONG1 of cos im not a shoplifter! =)

blah. tml will be going to anthea's house to practise. its like going to be another 6 MORE DAYS ONLY to the real performance. AHHHHH. i hope i dun fumble. but for the marmalade dance im wayyy at the back so it doesn't matter that much bah. and tml will be doing disgusting literature project at puimun's house. but i have no time lor have to go somewhere after dance till 3.30 liddat. hope can finish lit tml or else sure DIE.

byebye i go mug for science test at like almost midnight haha. howtostudyscience? :(

oh my dad is so..he just accused me. stupid. ok so heres the story: he walked past me den he took the cup that the tv repairman used jsut now and he was going to the kitchen to wash the cup. den i accidentally knocked the cup on my com table which i used to drink orange juice just now. luckily it din fall but just moved a little bit. den my dad saw and said while walking to the kitchen: [in chinese]

"orh, u want me help u wash ur cup right?"
"erm no. -_-"
"very clever lei purposely move it a little bit right?"
"no i never. stop accusing me."
"really very clever eh. moveit a little bit so that i would see the empty cup and wash it for you too."
"wadever i did not do that purposely."

okay its sth like that. and he sitll dun believe me when i told him i did nto do tt purpsoely to attract his attentionn so he can help me wash my cup. he said all those in a way thats like i-noe-u-wan-me-to-help-u-wash-ur-cup-but-nvm-i-will-wash-it and he washed my cup in the end of this "story la. pple may think that its only a cup but

especially when im not in the best of moods today.

bleagh. anyway tml will be a science-mugging day for me. though its suppsoed to be today. hehe. lazylazylazy me. and I BLURLY PLUS DUMBLY left my dance costume in school!!!

haiz. stupid. but luckily vanessa helped me put in eds room le. thankyou:) the costume err..its nice la but its disgusting one me. some of my juniors look very cute in the costumes though. as well as all of the seniors. they all look very pretty, in sch uniform too lols.

but ytd i had a hard time going home cos i was like carrying my uniform/track pants/dance shoes/sleeping bag/dnt toy home together when it was raining heavily and i had no umbrella. den the 158 bustop was crowded with dhs ppl den me sophia elaine quickly rushed up the bus. met jy prida too. and they were toking abt co the whole way home -_- prida is so FAMOUS in co with her diff rumoured boyfriends :)

den my legs were aching like mad. had to wear the dance shoes for the whole practice of like almost 4 hours. ouch. and my back,thighs,stomach were aching badly. my thighs the worst la. can't even bend down. =X OH! and i din run 2.4 ytd! ahhaa. half sad half happy. sad becos i wanna run with the sec 4s and not sec1s happy cos if i ran tml, i really think i will either fail or die. din run becos mr sng and sum other trs were there to watch our rehearsal. hmm. he only watched like hal fof the marmalade dance can. den he watched the dramas lor.

the plays were funny. but i think last year the encore play was the best! it ttly rocked eds night last year. so fast one year has passed le. but mr sng saidsome lines in the play may not be good for parents to hear them. =X and he oso said that adults may be more concerned with the election results than watching our concert and i think all of us were quite disappointed and sad. haiz. y did elections day had to be set on may 6? we set the date for eds night first. copy. bleagh. though elections are more impt if you consider it on a general basis but still..nvm. i think cindy eleanor shi bao etc all acted very well. and randall. his genreal dunno-wad accent thing is funny. LOL.

turns out sec 3 seniors still got one more of their own dance. which is choreographed by their own dance instructor. the instructor part is weird din noe still got another instructor. and though i din see their dances on the stage ytd cos i was like stressed up while practising the level dance for sec 2s,the senior dances are surely/confirm/guarantee very nice one. see them practice can liao.

the costumes of the "guys" were really not very nice. but it seriously looks nice on sophai lor. she is the most shuai "guy" in the dance liao judging by them in their costumes ytd. and i dunno why the costume msut be so kinda short =X and im not even dancing a big or rather average part in the dance, y must the costumes for my section be liek that? =X weirdweirdweird. okay, dun be mistaken we are going to wear some green big flowery things like ms khoo's dresses. as i said, the costumes are nice but must see hu is wearing it. like me wear den whole thing spoil la. =X haha.

ytd two ppl cried too. :( and today i nearly went bonkers and had some nervous breakdown wadsoever. cos of my brother. and sch thing. and main reason: myself. okay gtg now dun feel like blogging abt sad things. =(

p.s. one good point to note is that my tv is gonna be okay [FINALLY] on tuesday or wednesday. yay! though it costs like $180 =X

ahhhhhh tml is 2.4km for me =X and sophia anthea etc. haiz sec2s supposed to run on the 5th of May budden EDS NIGHT =) on the 6TH OF MAY. haha that day very eventful lei. elections oso on that day. so we dancers must run tml. bleagh. today was the 5 items for napfa. den my legs and thighs aching like crazy i have to run 2.4 tml. not like i can run well or my lungs super powerful.

we have less than a week to the big day and our level dance haven't practised finished. dies. so many what-ifs in my mind now. haiz. really hope it will be like alst year, as successful, as exciting, as funny or if better more successful. this is so taxing on my mind =X den im like mentally prepared to pon 3rd lang lah for the whole of next week. cos must practise everyday. sian-ed. but i cannot pon! cos next next week is LEVEL CAMP. haiz. if i pon means i pon 3 or more french lessons which is ttly outrageous as much as i would wanna quit but i dun tink my parents let anyway.

abt level camp, the grouping is okay lah, at least i have spoken to at least 3 ppl in my group haha. and the rest i sorta noe their faces and names but nvr tok to them personally lah. den ashley said yuhding said got leeches. LEECHES. eew. den still got wad shit and urine in the toilet on the ground etc. i den dunwan go. eew. i hate camp! i dun mind going for the activities but i dun wan to sleep there. at least with clean toilets i can accept but tt kind fo conditions its so disgusting. bet the teachers sure got better enviormental conditions to live in for them. UNFAIR. gruoup 9 has so many ppl i noe. UNFAIR. again. haiz. nvm at least i dun have yulong or howeva u spell his name in my group. poor christine!

okay gtg. anyway think i sorta flunked geog test. and eng test too. GOOD LUCK FOR MY 2.4KM!

p.s. my sit and reach GOT E. sit-ups and inclined pull-ups and shuttle run i got A =) but standing broad jump i got like D. haiz. NO MORE GOLD FOR ME.

i dun like singapore's weather. so hot. and humid. make ppl sweat and sweat. haiz. ytd me and elaine made a kinda futile trip to school den we go back le. was supposed to go k-box but cancelled last min cos i needa go school. sian-ed. but in a way its gd so i can save money haha. and that stupid sec2 level camps costs like $103. eew. its at sarimbun there. sarimbun ahs a resevoir. hehe i just finished notes of two chapters of geog. den my eng hw haven't even do finish. have to go out soon to celebrate my grandfather's birthday. =)

祝爷爷身体健康，长命百岁！lols tts wad im gonna say later. and my dad is still sleeping ;ike a pig. =X bb i shall go wake him up and den bring my hw to my grandparents' she and do.

5 more days to doomscostumeday. and 13 days more to may 6! ahhh no srcaasrhses please. no its not the elections lah. i hope pap wins though. figure it out urselves x) haha.

hahahahhaa. its actually supposed to be FEMME. means WOMAN in french. typo errors can really make a diff =X i shall attempt to type properly next time. but hor when i played this game which u have to type the letters a to z lah den see how much time u take and my fastest record on computer is 4.32 seconds lor. haha highest record at the site is 3.22 or sth but they use labtop one. labtop faster.

hmm speaking of TIME, my mock 2.4 km is like 15 mins and 05 seconds. i dun even tink i ran 2.4 km cos i keep running across the grass. aiya. and i deproved lor. lastime 7 rounds 10 mins plus de now liddat. RAHHH. and den the art marks err. haha actually i quite happy one lor. budden turns out all of them get so high!! 72 for me for art is like good. ahahhaha. cos u noe my art lah...haha. den skarly ppl in my grp most get higher than me. stupid.

today got third lang again. and den LILYLOY went to show us her book. a book that she wrote. OMG. ahhaa i was LOL-ing the whole lesson after recess after she showed us den the gals all went to read abit lah. is abt POEMS one. den i wanna read den recess over le den she say wad next time let me see again haha. i must have seemed very very veyr excited and happy that she has a book she wrote herself. the book is called LALANG lor. aha the cover actually looks quite serene lah. u noe got flower that kind den look so peaceful. wah den skarly go down saw her name

OKAY HMM. today din have cca cos i tink tr bz so i went to tm the times and popular to buy varnish den turns out dun have -_- so me elaine ashley went to eat at kfc. ahha saw this tuition guy whom i din recognised till he smiled at us. den eat eat eat den we decided to walk home. owells can jian3 fei2. haha. den we went to elaine's hse and study. woah so guai right? i finished my problem sums the linear equations there lei. and its due on thurs. i forgot all abt the maths non-linear equations ws im suppsoed to ahnd in tml =X haiz. den now its almost ten thirty and i still haven't do. cos i dunno hwo to do mah. but i feel very accomplished. WO3 JING4 RAN2 ZUO4 WAN1 YI1 PIAN1 SHU4 XUE2 TI2 which i tot i surely wun do finish in time haha.

HAIZ. MY MATHS QUIZ!! cos i din go school that day lah den ms seow say wad cannot take le. den she gimme the quiz lor jsut for practice lah wah den i did it and i got full marks!!! STUPID. means if i did on that day i would have gotten full marks!! haiz. i SELDOM get full marks for maths quizzes lor, moreover tests sure dun have lah. den now i see 10 marks flying away from me. the whole class' marks sure pulled up wan den mine lei, pulled down. =( SO MUCH FOR BEING OPTIMISTIC that the quiz was an ultra difficult one.

bleagh. and that LOY. she so evil. say wad LATE work no marks. but nvr do deduct marks. wad shit lah. pls lro my work not even late k? its still e-learning week for goodness' sake. stupideFEMME. she sucks. nicc they all went to toa payoh for the class tee thing and i din go. =X cos i was too tired. and oso i have this big pile of french at home and i only saw the sms like at 8 plus. so thus i decided not to go lor. sorry ppl! hmm and prida told me we have to go back in like three weeks' time. and it happens to be EDS NIGHT! haha so coincidental.

i just finished three assighments for french. all supposed to be sent to HER b4 thurs and tues. like wads HER prob. its e-learning week wad. i have the whole week to do my work right y must she force us to ahnd in b4 tues and thurs. madmadmad. and she threatens to minus marks if we dun havnd in by then. poof. wadeva. i hope no one hands in promptly. which i think will be most likely the case haha. den if we hand in will minus marks dun hand in oso minus marks. siao. den if nvr hand in must do on book and hand in on tues but there will be no marks for late work. like that i must as well dun do.

in the end, got nth lo. so sad. haiz "words cannot express my feelings" now. this saying really applies here. but i have no one to blame. except my luck. its always like this. why? im not even asking for alot. just all that. in comparison to most of others' wants, it is mediocre. but i dun undersatnd why i dun get it. perhaps you could tell me.

yay. sports day has ended happily. hmm last year the winner wasn't announced. so sad last year we lost to cchms by ONE GOLD MEDAL ONLY lor and this year it was like we tot temasek won but it turns out we won! ok anyway three cheers for everyone who ran/jumped/threw sth. lols.

haha this year the star of dhs track ppl shd be haha sec2 batch ok! 1992 batch seems to have lots of eventful things happening. =X ok anyway i met up with gc and a big bunch of us went to lakeside together lor. me gc sophia elaine christine jy ashley jarib and chaojiwudiextra bing gen. den on the way there on mrt, alot ALOT of dhs ppl boarded the train lor. got those ppl from 2b and rachel maureen etc. even my juniors oso there. haha SUMEI THE CHIO BU. lols. den gc felt so extra lols. cos she was the only cchms person mah. den we tok tok tok den finally reach lakeside mrt. wah tt side bombarded by mostly dhs and cchms ppl. den we sat around for some time and saw many familiar faces and lots oflians+bengsunfamiliar faces. den we all boarded the sbs buses. lols. they are HIRED by our schools to take us to jurong stadium lor. din noe the chartered buses are sbs buses lols.

hmm den reach there and just follow the crowd blindly. den finally found our place la and realised that only dhs ppl were sitting in the sheltered area. den it started raining den can see the rest of the ppl from other schs taking out umbrellas. den we were like we next year will be them liao if it rains. or very hot. cos this year we get to sit in the sheltered area cos we r the hosting school mah. not cos of bias ok. aiya dunno. den we just cheer and cheer and cheer lor. haha tot i could get a sexy voice like jy's but turns out dun have. so sad. haha. den the performance by dhs so cool haha. but actually dun really think other sch ppl paying attention =X anyway i think conclusion is most dhs gals rock at track and dhs' forte is long+high jump while cchms one is the javelin one. and ngee ann and temasek is running lor.

clara participated too! but dunno wad event lah. she really looks mcuh prettier in real life. stupid tv. den saw her alot of times. haha den saw adriano thorugh binoculars lols. jy saw him upclose and she was ttly mad abt him. den we screened thru the temasek ppl thru binoculars den saw him on the phone. hahaaha. den we look at clara aiya so sad she not on phone. get the idea ppl? =P cos we got clue that adriano was in a yellow shirt and he was the only one wearing a black and white cap and sitting at the third row one. den he satnd up sumore so very easy to see. clara was like on the field cos all ppl hu are participating have to march and go for prize-giving. den she later stand in front of where we sec 2s sit. haha. and dhs won the BEST CHEER THIS YEAR. =)

i love the cheng2 xin4 yong3 zhong1 cheer, the D-U-N/M-A-N cheer and the " oh dunman ure so fine ure so fine u blow my mind" cheer. =) WE ROCK!

well, i still have LOADS of hw to do. especially french hw. tt loy mad again. give us so much hw lah. stupid woman. den still got art to do but i dunno do wad la cos din go sch tt day. but the science hothouse project is finally finished! =) haha again i din contribute much =P but our hothouse really very cheng2 gong1 okay. so pro. hahaha. the water was still like warm after so long yay!

haha. some things are just so obvious lah. hmm now he say he nvr go. dunno if he really got go anot. if he did, the clue is SO OBVIOUS. prida's going to china! so cool with her co. haha. den she come back will be a pro-ed zhong-ruan person. and today is band's concert so jy and nicc will be like going lor. hmm alot of guys in our class going too. expected duh they are so the muscial. -_-"

anyway there is a sports meet afterwards! hmm kinda excited becos its a break from the sch work tests etc but this year, no one in 2g will be running today cos they have run le. cos there is mroe than one day that have competitions mah den it happens that pple in my class all run le. haiz. so kinda bored. and alot of ppl from 2g will be performing den benjamin cant join cos after sports day den got band concert the following day den mrs wong say band ppl must rest well or sth. ee. siao. she rather her band gd oso dunwan let the sch gd. had history test ytd. erm was quite okay la. but i scared my second q wrong again den 0 like last time. =X

today reached home at 5.30 lor. SO EARLY. usually is 7.30. haha den felt kinda happy today in the morning. but I DUN HAVE MATHS QUIZ LEI. the rest say quite easy means i missed out a chance to get more marks for my pathetic maths. hmm but i have to look on the bright side, wad if i din do well in the quiz den i would have gained marks. i feel so optimistic.

ok anyway, theres this STUPID DISGUSTING GUY who is mad. his race shan't be said here in case im caught for some racist issue bleagh. ok so i was sitting on the bus la and i was sitting on the ourside seat sophia was beside me. den theres this guy who stood beside me and he used his body to push me in and in. yes maybe this may be cos the bus is crowded but no the bus wasn't crowded and theres noone behind him. mad man. den he used his belly to push me in and in and worst still, he sways! DUNNO SWAY FOR WAD. den is like rub against me -_-" so ticklish and disgusting den tt sophia go push me so that i can push tt guy out. but din succeed cos his potruding belly was against the right side of my body.

EWW GROSS. den he mad one. i looked at him den he oso stare back den the ppl beside him nvr sway or push towards ppl who are sitting down in front of them den he swayed and pushed me. the feeling is very disgusting and ticklish. den my goosebumps all come out le. den wen we got down den i ask prida look at him den he did some weird handsign at us.

anyway i din go sch today cos when i woke up, my right eye was like red. and itchy. ee. and i din even ear contacs for one day le lor. siao one. den my left eye looks so tired too. and i felt so bu shuang. RAHH. den my mum say i can stay at home. actually i ask her one haha den she say can. wah den i go back to sleep in my sch uniform lor. i even got my tie out. -_- [today is monday in case u dunno]

den i slept from 6.30 to 10. ahha den i wake up slack den eat brunch den i satrted copying my hist notes lor. but i always stop halfway cos i got sleepy. den i attempted maths too k. den i sleep from like 3.30 to 5. Building a Dunmanian Heritage

This is a letter from the Dunman High in Year 2006 to the Dunman High in Year 2031. It is part of a collection of artefacts that will be placed in the Dunman High Time Capsule on 31 Mar 2006. When this Time Capsule is opened, you will catch a glimpse of the life, dreams and aspirations of Dunmanians who pass this way 25 years before you.

This Time Capsule is our little contribution to the building up of a richer Dunmanian heritage and identity. We are a young nation. As a school, we are not much older than our nation. It is important that a young community like ours cherish and preserve our heritage, because it is through history that we learn who we are and appreciate what makes us unique.
As a historian (Henry Steele Commager , 1902 – 1998) once put it , “for a people to be without History, or to be ignorant of its history, is as for a man to be without memory—condemned forever to make the same discoveries that have been made in the past, invent the same techniques, wrestle with the same problems, commit the same errors; and condemned, too, to forfeit the rich pleasures of recollection.”


Standing on the Shoulders of Giants

Dunman High has enjoyed 50 years of success, and much of it was achieved against the odds. Started as a small Chinese Middle School in 1956 with only about 100 students and 10 teachers, Dunman High even had to borrow a primary school campus to serve as her initial school ground. Except for tables and chairs, the school had little else then. Today, Dunman High has grown to be one of the top school s in Singapore . Our students are known throughout the country for their outstanding academic performance and strong co-curricula achievements. More importantly, the public has come to associate Dunmanians with admirable qualities like integrity and uprightness.

There were many other challenges that the school had to overcome. For instance, it is difficult today to imagine how a Chinese medium school could convert to the English medium of instruction in 1980 and still do better than many other top English medium schools in the national examinations. This is an extraordinary accomplishment, but one that is no surprise to those who experienced first hand the determination, resilience and talent of our pioneering students and staff.

When other top schools in Singapore began to turn independent in the 1990s, Dunman High boldly decided to remain a government school. To those who are status conscious, this may seem like compromising our standing as a top school. To the educators in Dunman High, however, this is simply a natural extension of our beliefs in education. We remember our humble beginnings and believe firmly that good education should be accessible to the masses, without children having to worry about affordability. To this day, we stayed true to our cause of providing top quality education at a fee affordable to the masses.
Just as Issac Newton who felt that he could see further than others because he had stood on the shoulders of giants, we in Dunman High feel likewise when we look back on our accomplishments. Without the wisdom, devotion and sacrifices of the ex-staff and principals of Dunman High, the school would not have the strong foundation that we enjoy today. The resilience and imagination demonstrated by them in achieving against the odds continue to inspire and guide us as we chart new frontiers for the school.


Our Journey Forward

Going forward, we will honour our history by preserving two important features in the way we educate Dunmanians:
Character development must take precedence over all other domains of developments. If we ignore character building, everything else that we do in education will be to no purpose but to make the worse or more dangerous man;
Dunmanians must continue to aspire for excellence and give of their best in everything they do. Success in life is an attitude – the attitude of putting our heart, mind and soul even to our smallest acts.

Just as our pioneering teachers and students who built Dunman High from an unknown school to a leading secondary school, we are now embarking on a similar journey to develop Dunman High into a leading junior college. The goal we set for ourselves is to become one of the top 5 junior colleges in the A-level examinations. This is a challenging task, but it cannot be more challenging than what our pioneers experienced 50 years ago. If our pioneers can do wonders with a small, unknown and poorly equipped school 5 decades ago, we must be able to do much more with a school that is already among the very best in the secondary school league.
Apart from our A-level ambition, there are other goals we have set for ourselves in the years ahead. Dunmanians are already famous for their sound values and upright character. We want to nurture Dunmanians into future leaders who are as well known for their passion, confidence, leadership and creativity as their integrity, uprightness and willingness to serve. We want to see Dunmanians who are confident but not arrogant, passionate but not self-centred, articulate but not flamboyant, and creative but not scheming.

These are our dreams for the future, and the future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams. Our dreams will progressively turn into reality, if this generation of Dunmanians exhibits the same pioneering spirit and never-say-die attitude as the Dunmanians who built this school over the last 5 decades. Like a wise man once said, “what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us ”.

Question for the Future
As you, the future Dunmanians, read this letter, I would like to ask you: have our dreams come true?

watched campus superstar ending plus finals. den ytd forgot to watch so u think u can dance haha. anyway the finals were nice but i felt very sad cos the difference between the top 6 and the top 4 is very different lor. HAIZ. so sad. anyway ytd oso wuite sad cos all of them cried. the twins sorta cry alot =X and poor clara had no voice. haiya den she cant sing with adriano la. stupid stupid stupid. so sad. what a pity! or else sure very fun. i like them together ahha =) LALL. dunno real anot. den the khim's duet with yiyuan was the best among the three duets ytd lor cos their interaction was gd. shes quite okay cos at first so act cute den now become the gal out during the first round [xiuping or sth] so act cute. eeyer.

hmm anyway. LOY DIN GIVE ME BACK MY EXAM. AFTER SO LONG. SHE SO MAD. DUN LIKE HER. i am bored. mummy went for the fei4 yu4 qing1 concert cos aunty pearlyn got free tickets. haha. papa driving her there now. as for my brother, hes missing as usual. and ytd when my brother was playing basketball at the court near gongshang den he heard this loud plomp sound. den his friends and him ignored the sound [they tot it was thunder o.O] den skarly turns out someone had committed suicide!!!

ee. eerie. den the police wen to ask for their numbers. so weird lah. hello? my brother din even see the whole thing happening but only heard the sound what. quoted from my mum:" siao." ahha. haiz so sad. heard that it was an old uncle who committed suicide. may him rest in peace.
